The Burnout Institute offers education, training, and tools for emotional wellness, professional practice, and healthier systems. Burnout is our starting point, not the limit of our work.
Our mission
Burnout is often treated as a private weakness that individuals should solve quietly. We take a wider view. Pressure, workplace culture, caregiving demands, trauma exposure, unclear boundaries, and chronic overfunctioning can all shape the cycle.
Our work makes those patterns visible and gives people practical ways to respond—without turning recovery into another impossible assignment.
Our vision
A world in which people no longer have to destroy themselves to prove their value, serve others, or succeed.
What guides us
Compassion is not avoidance. Sustainable change asks us to tell the truth and build something healthier.
People are more than their productivity, usefulness, or output.
Healthy work should not require people to disappear inside their responsibilities.
Change begins when reality, values, and choices are allowed to meet.
Burnout is personal in its impact and often organizational in its origin.
