Privacy notice

Information you voluntarily provide through email or inquiry forms is used to respond to your request, deliver requested services, and communicate relevant updates. Do not submit confidential clinical information through this website. We do not sell personal information. Third-party services used for payment, scheduling, email, or course delivery operate under their own privacy policies.

Terms

Educational use

Website content is provided for general education and professional-development purposes. It is not medical, legal, crisis, or individualized mental-health advice. No outcome is guaranteed. Written materials, frameworks, course content, and downloadable resources remain the intellectual property of their respective owner and may not be reproduced or distributed without permission.

Accessibility

Access matters.

The Burnout Institute aims to provide an inclusive digital experience. If you encounter an accessibility barrier or need a reasonable accommodation for a training, course, or resource, email drana@burnoutinstitute.org with the page or service involved and the support requested.

Coaching disclaimer

Coaching is not psychotherapy.

Coaching is educational and goal-oriented. It does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions and is not a substitute for therapy, medical care, crisis intervention, or emergency services. If you are in immediate danger in the United States, call 911 or call or text 988. Outside the United States, contact the appropriate local emergency or crisis service.

Training policies

Clear expectations protect the learning experience.

These policies apply to public courses, CE programs, certificate series, and virtual trainings offered by The Burnout Institute. If a specific registration page or organizational agreement states different terms, the terms presented for that offering will control.

Refunds and cancellations

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to drana@burnoutinstitute.org. Cancellations received at least seven calendar days before the training are eligible for a full refund. Requests received three to six calendar days before the training may be converted to a course credit or transferred to another eligible offering. Cancellations received fewer than 72 hours before the training and participant no-shows are nonrefundable, except when otherwise required by law or stated on the registration page.

Transfers to another course

One transfer may be requested at least 72 hours before the scheduled training. Transfers are subject to availability and must generally be used within 12 months. If the replacement course costs more, the participant is responsible for the difference. Course credits have no cash value and are not guaranteed for programs offered by outside partners.

Late arrival and early departure

Participants seeking continuing-education credit must attend the full approved instructional period. Late arrival, early departure, extended absence, or failure to return after a break may reduce or eliminate credit. Partial credit will be issued only when the approving body permits it and verified attendance supports it.

Attendance verification

Attendance may be verified through individual registration, sign-in records, platform join and departure reports, engagement checks, polls, code words, chat responses, or direct participation. Participants must register and attend using their own name and email address. Additional verification requirements will be stated before enrollment when applicable.

Certificate eligibility

Certificates are issued only after payment is complete and all stated requirements are met. Requirements may include full attendance, participation in engagement checks, completion of an evaluation, a passing knowledge check, and accurate professional or license information. Certificates document completion of an educational activity; they do not create a new professional credential or certification.

CE approval disclosures

Approval status, eligible hours, credit categories, and approving organizations will be stated on the registration page for each offering. Credit will not be advertised as approved until written approval has been received. Participants are responsible for confirming that an offering meets the requirements of their licensing board, employer, or jurisdiction. Approval by one organization does not guarantee acceptance by another.

Technology problems during virtual classes

Participants are responsible for a working device, reliable internet access, audio capability, and timely entry into the virtual classroom. If a participant is disconnected, they should rejoin promptly and notify the facilitator. Credit is based on verified attendance and cannot be guaranteed for time missed because of participant-side technology problems. If a significant technology failure controlled by The Burnout Institute prevents delivery, participants will be offered a rescheduled session, an eligible transfer, course credit, or a refund.

Course cancellation by The Burnout Institute

The Burnout Institute may reschedule or cancel a course because of presenter illness, insufficient enrollment, severe weather, technology failure, emergency, or another circumstance that makes responsible delivery impossible. Registered participants will be offered a transfer, course credit, or full refund. The Burnout Institute is not responsible for travel, lodging, lost wages, or other incidental expenses unless a written agreement states otherwise.
